A fan-made Elden Ring Tarot Deck features several iconic characters from The Lands Between as impressive representations of all 22 Major Arcana.

A lowly Tarnished has created an impressive set of Tarot cards based on Elden Ring. Thanks to the notable success of FromSoftware’s open-world RPG, Elden Ring has enjoyed an equally remarkable outpouring of love from its community. While many fans show their continued support through subsequent Elden Ring playthroughs on new game plus, others have shown it via impressive passion projects.

It’s no secret that Elden Ring has become the most lucrative title in FromSoftware’s catalog. Selling over 16 million copies, Elden Ring has attracted players from various professions, including Tesla CEO Elon Musk, former WWE Champion Randy Orton, and rapper Post Malone. However, it’s also attracted talented fan artists who have made several creative pieces based on FromSoftware’s latest hit. Through these works, artistic players have manifested the cast of other franchises like Zelda, Warhammer 40k, and Hollow Knight into Elden Ring’s beautiful yet deadly world. But every so often, artists let the populace of the Lands Between travel to other franchises, as seen in one piece of art envisioning Elden Ring’s enemies as Pokémon.

In a recent report from Game Rant, Reddit user Art-Zuron has taken a portion of Elden Ring’s cast to the stars in an impressive Tarot deck. Art-Zuron’s gallery showcases all of Tarot’s Major Arcana, each represented by an iconic character from Elden Ring. Fans will immediately recognize iconic favorites like Malenia as Strength, Ranni the Witch as The Moon, and Starscouge Radahn as The Star. While not technically a character, the majestic Erdtree appears as The Tower. It’s worth noting that each card features a second depiction of the featured character, representing the double meaning of a Major Arcana when it is normal or inverted. This gives the beautiful artwork a sense of power and melancholy, a dual theme worthy of the somber title.

Video games with rich lore and detailed characters can be fertile grounds for Tarot deck recreations. That being said, for games with substantially large casts, like Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, assigning custom Tarot cards to each character can be difficult, given the limited space of 22 Major Arcana cards. Unable to feature all of Elden Ring's storied cast, fellow Redditors praised Art-Zuron's work while sharing their ideas for who else to feature in the deck. One comment suggested the enigmatic Gold Mask for The Sun and Astel for The Star, while another proposed Gowry for The Hermit and the Loathsome Dung Eater for The Hanged Man.

While not every fan favorite is represented, Art-Zuron’s Elden Ring Tarot cards are no less impressive. With such a powerful cast, Elden Ring’s populace act as perfect representations of the icons of Fate. While it remains a mystery if FromSoftware's next project will be new Elden Ring content, hopefully, Elden Ring's success can steer the developer toward that possibility.
