Eagles win NFC East, Wild Card Game in Madden 23 full-season simulation

There’s a reason why we have days where we, at times, obsess over Electronic Arts’ Madden NFL game. Following the Philadelphia Eagles‘ Super Bowl win and ahead of the 2018 NFL season, all we had to do was fire up the gaming PC, Sony Playstation, or Xbox, and we could run the Philly Special just like Trey Burton, Corey Clement, and Nick Foles did.

Raise your hand if you called that one two times or more during a head-to-head simulation or for no reason whatsoever on third-and-five from your own ten-yard line. You, most certainly, are not alone.

Sure, Madden has its bugs. We’ve all complained about the physics engine. We’ve all seen one of our wide receivers walk through a wall like a ghost after hauling in a touchdown, but Madden owns a special place in our hearts.

It’s a much better product than Tecmo Bowl was! You know it and so do the rest of us.

It’s impossible to make everyone happy, but year after year, EA does its best. If someone is seen as the fastest player in the NFL, they make sure he’s the fastest player on Madden. If Von Miller is still getting around the opposing team’s right tackle with ease as we saw in Week 1, EA always makes sure they allow him a higher block-shedding grade.

It’s for that reason that we often enjoy Madden simulations. Sure, it isn’t an exact science. It probably proves nothing, but it’s fun to see how games would play out if we let the most popular football franchise of all time do the work.

94 WIP-FM’s Eliot Schorr-Parks tweeted on the Wednesday leading up to Week 1’s game that anything less than a playoff win is a failure for this team. He should be happy with the findings of AppTrigger.

They’re FanSided’s home for application, mobile, and gaming news, and their recent full-season Madden NFL 23 sim led to a 10-7 regular-season finish (which won them the NFC East’s crown) and a 44-38 win over the Carolina Panthers in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs.

Sadly, Philly lost to the Green Bay Packers, the number-one seed, in the Divisional Round a week later. Hopefully, when we reach January, there’s a different result (and a better-looking score in the first round), still, if you’re like the rest of us and your alter-ego is an eAthlete, this is pretty big news for you.

Sure, games are played on the field, and AppTrigger’s sim won’t have any bearing on how the regular season plays out, but if you think these things don’t matter, ask the NFL star that thinks his speed or overall grade is too low.
