If you ask Allyson Hernandez why he likes to be an artist, she will give you a simple answer.

"Since I was a child, I have always hoped that seeing my art can inspire and inspire positive emotions for everyone who sees it. Therefore, my goal has always been to let people see my artwork. Smile and feel happy at times," said the senior student at Cedar Mountain High School.

This is exactly what many people do when they see her latest work. She designed a Christmas card for Cedar Mountain School District this year.

Hernandez was the winner of a contest that her art teacher told her.

"When Mrs. (Danielle Grays-) Johnson told us about the game, I knew I had to participate. There were many ideas flashing in my mind, but with every idea I thought there might be more," Hernand Said. "Until Mrs. Johnson said,'Well, I haven't seen anyone doing things with longhorns.'

"Then I think, what if the longhorn becomes a cute Saint Nick? I start sketching and transfer it to my laptop to add what I know will make our longhorn in the spirit of the holiday element."

Thus, her creation was born. Although it brought joy to many people, Hernandez remained humble in accepting all the credit.

"I couldn't do it without Mrs. Johnson's help. When I first brainstormed a perfect result, every idea came to my mind. I think they are good, but there is always something missing to make it. Something better," she said. "She is one of my favorite teachers and one of the few teachers I will miss after graduation."

Gray-Johnson once had Hernandez in her advanced placement studio art class, and she said that Hernandez will submit a collection of digital art. She praised the growth of her award-winning students since last year.

"I can see how much she has grown up as an artist. She is passionate about her art and takes it very seriously," she said. "Alison was a member of our'Van's Crew' last year. She was one of the students who helped us win $15,000 for the Vans Custom Culture competition."

Hernandez admitted that this project was not a quick creation. But then, she was really busy, including rehearsing the roles in the "SpongeBob SquarePants Musical" produced by Sandy Cheeks at school.

"In class, I was able to lay the foundation on my laptop, ready for coloring and rendering. After returning home, I started to finish what I started in class. I was lucky enough to finish it and email it Send it to my teacher to hand it in with others," she said.

"I remember how nervous I was waiting for the results. Then, one morning, I received an email from Mrs. Johnson requesting to come to her room as soon as possible," Hernandez said. "At that time she showed me an email saying that my design had been selected. I was so excited, I had to go all out so as not to look like crazy jumping and screaming in the hall."

Although this project is very cool, it is not the first artistic creation that she left a mark on the school. She designed two murals and a coffee cup in Longhorn's drama costume class. She also painted a dramatic unicorn in one of the theaters. She also won second place in the previous few games.

She said that everyone has their own special place, and so does this place.

"Everything I have designed over the years has filled my heart with excitement, because you never know what the next project will be," she said.

"I designed one for a task last year. We were assigned to make a card and give it to someone in your family, a teacher, etc.," she said. "This is before I have the confidence to use the tablet during class time.

"I remember to make my card theme revolve around the popular game called'Among Us' at the time-giving it a holiday twist. The cards I made were just to bring fun and giggles to my friends and family . But I still remember how happy I was.” Hernandez’s other major hobby is drama. She joined in the eighth grade and played the little orphan Annie in the production of "Little Annie Musical".

"Shortly after that, my scope developed from a Brooklyn journalist to a role that was about to become Sandy Cheeks. I have to say that in my many years of theater career, my favorite role must be Elizabeth in our "Frankenstein" in one-act performance," she said.

Hernandez is very active in the theater industry. She is the chairman of her troupe, and she and her five colleagues help manage the group.

"As my senior year is coming to an end, I will always remember the good memories along the way and the people I met. For drama, we always strive hard from this famous quote by Alexander Pope, this The sentence is: "Do your part, and the honor is there," she said.

However, although she likes theater very much, it is not her main hobby, because she is going to college at the University of North Texas or Oklahoma State University. She plans to study graphic art. However, she said that what she learned in drama will help her upcoming career.

"Although I will miss drama very much, I will always use what I have learned in drama to help me shine in my artistic career," she said. "I have established some kind of family relationship with a group of people I was fortunate to meet. But I won't shine in the theater until the end of that stage in May 2022.

"As a profession, what I want to do is to become a graphic designer or illustrator. I know I will succeed in these fields because I practice every day to improve my skills and hope to influence some of my favorite companies. . Art is in my blood. My family has some talented artists, and these qualities also flow in me."
