Several previously hard-to-get cards are grabbing more attention thanks to these reprints.

While the majority of Magic: The Gathering sets are designed around the inclusion of powerful new cards, Masters sets are a popular alternative type of set, made up entirely of much-needed reprints of previously released cards. Magic's most recent set, Double Masters 2022 is a treasure trove of stellar cards that see play in a variety of formats from Commander to Modern. While some of these cards have popped up in various sets or the likes of preconstructed Commander decks, Double Masters 2022 is home to a litany of cards that have never seen reprints prior. So today, we're going to see every card in this set that had never before seen a reprint!

Before we begin, we should note that we are accounting for various factors such as if cards have been printed in more than sets, including within Secret Lairs or within "The List." However, if a card had only been reprinted as a Judge Promo, it will still be included, as such reprints are not widely available to all players.

White has received a respectable seven cards reprinted that hadn't been seen since their initial printing. While some of these cards such as Anointer of Valor and Militia Bugler see more play in limited than within constructed formats, there are a few white reprints sure to please Commander players. While the Reprinting of Emiel the Blessed makes this previously pricy blink commander more accessible for players, this is most notably the first time we've ever seen a reprint of Smothering Tithe, one of the strongest white mana-generating staples in the entire Commander format.

Eight blue cards within Double Masters 2022 hadn't seen prior reprints, making them far more accessible to players. Though cards like As Foretold and Disciple of the Ring can provide flexible value and flexibility, Force of Negation is easily the most notable of these reprinted cards. A three-mana counterspell, Force of Negation can notably be cast for free during an opponent's turn if you exile a blue card from your hand, allowing it to function in comparable manner to the ever-excellent Force of Will. Due to its legality in Modern unlike Force of Will, this makes it among the most sought-after blue staples of the format, making this reprint incredibly helpful for Modern players.

WIth eleven never-before-reprinted cards featured in Double Masters 2022, the majority of these reprints are of commons and uncommons that primarily see play in limited rather than within constructed formats. However, there is one never-before-reprinted black card that is currently the most valuable card in the entire set: Imperial Seal. Effectively a sorcery-speed Vampiric Tutor, Imperial Seal is a potent one-mana tutor, serving as one of the most efficient tutors in all of Magic. Prior to the release of Double Masters 2022, the card's only printing was in the notoriously shortly printed Portal Three Kingdoms back in 1999, making this card incredibly hard to come by prior to this reprint.

Double Masters 2022 is home to sixteen cards that had never before seen a reprint. Of these red reprints, two cards truly steal the show: Dockside Extortionist and Warrior's Oath.

Only ever printed in a single preconstructed Commander deck, Dockside Extortionist is among the most polarizing cards in the Commander format. For the low cost of two mana, Dockside Extortionist is capable of creating a significant number of treasure tokens for a negligible amount of mana. As a sought-after Commander staple that many believe can be effectively slotted into any red Commander deck, additional copies of this card in circulation will significantly help this card's accessibility.

Though far from a staple like Dockside Extortionist, Warrior's Oath, like the previously mentioned Imperial Seal had only seen a printing within Portal Three Kingdoms. Due to the minuscule number of available copies, prior to this reprinting, copies of Warrior's Oath were selling for hundreds of dollars, meaning that this reprinting will allow those looking to utilize the card to do so without breaking the bank.

The following red cards have seen their first reprints in Double Masters 2022:

Like white, green has received seven first-time-reprints in Double Masters 2022. Among these cards, one stand include Impervious Greatworm, a card that had previously only been available as Guilds of Ravnica's Buy-a-Box promo. This creature is a solid inclusion in creature-heavy Commander decks, serving as a massive 16/16 with indestructible that despite its mana value of ten, can be cast with your creatures through its access to Convoke.

The most impressive green reprint within DOuble Masters 2022 is easily Allosaurus Shepherd. Despite being a single green mana, this 1/1 Elf can prevent your creatures from being countered whilst maintaining significant late-game value through its activated ability capable of bolstering even the smallest of elves under your control. As this card is an excellent inclusion in Elf-tribal decks in Commander and Legacy alike, this reprint will make the card much more accessible, as it had previously only been printed as a Mythic in Jumpstart.

Double Masters 2022 features a staggering forty-six multicolored cards that had never before been reprinted. Among these multicolored cards are a treasure trove of cards perfect for various types of Commander decks, with many of these cards being legendary creatures themselves. Of these cards many of these legendary creatures are popular Commander options in their own right, originating from preconstructed Commander decks that had previously made potential reprints rather tricky. Standouts include the Planeswalker, Aminatou, the Fateshifter, the Voltron all-star Uril, the Miststalker, and Firesong and Sunspeaker, a card previously only available as Dominaria's Buy-a-Box promo.

The following multicolored cards have seen their first reprints in Double Masters 2022:

Of the never-before-reprinted colorless cards in Double Masters 2022, seven of the eight cards are artifacts while only one of these cards is a land. Among these artifacts, Bloodforged Battle-Axe, Conqueror's Flail, and Nim Deathmantle are each impressive equipment cards perfect for Voltron Commander decks. Additionally, Pillar of the Paruns, a card that had previously only been printed in Dissension in 2006 and an incredibly underrated land reprinted in this set. Entering the battlefield, untapped, Pillar of the Paruns offers flexible mana fixing for decks that include a substantial number of multicolored spells, as it can provide one mana of any color as long as that mana is spent to cast multicolored spells.
